what a sweet weekend. let me start at the begninning and i'll keep it short and sweet as always. minus the sweet. caught the 9:00 ferry to vancouver. met up with the girls on the ferry. met a football team. ate a bagel. got off the ferry drove to deer lake park. got there at around 11:30. doors didn't open untill 4:00.

We got our spot on the concrete in the shade near all the other island people... who seemed to make up a majority of the lineup.



played some cards, ate some food, listened to music, took some pictures, had some slushees, made some friends, sang some songs...





Matt Costa, who was one of the openers for Jack Johnson came out to our little lineup and played some songs on his guitar. we all sat in a circle and listened to him. he's soo good and one girl started crying and we laughed. he stuck around to sign some autographs and take some pictures. which i took advantage of and got my ticket signed.





cool. we got into the park at 4ish and went to the merch table first. i picked up a hoodie and a poster. i got the guys hoodie cause it was better but they didn't have a small so i got a medium. so now i look like a boy. but i'll tell people it's my hot boyfriends sweater and then they'll think i'm cool or something... yes? no



we had 2 hours to wait so we made our way down to the front where we squeezed in between blankets.. which was a little awkward with 10 girls and 0 space. it was a party for sure. we made friends with some people. one guy sang to us for a while and was amazing. he went on canadian idol but got cut.. which was weird cause he rocked.



Matt Costa played first. we were pretty close to the front... maybe 6 people back i dont know... he was soo goood. deffinitely a keeper. kind of folky.. kind of. sort of reminded me of lindy/a happier david usher. check his music out. here.



ALO was next (animal liberation orchestra). they were also very good. check them out here.



their second last song, Jack himself came out and played. wasn't expecting that and everybody went crazy haha it was sweet.




after about a half hour wait Jack came out. shitttt it was amazing. can't even explain. he's one of my favorite singers so it was intense seein him up there so close and singing so fucking well. he's so sexy/cute and has a sideways smile. i love him.





He played for about an hour and 15 mins, he came back for an encore. the encore was completely amazing. it was acoustic and he played some of his best songs. the end was so mellow and he said he wanted to just keep playing so he did. for about 45 mins.




then it was over.



meghan, the brother and the brother's friend + parents went back to the hotel, ate some subway then went to bed. Meghan and the brother bought the same shirt haa



Went to metrotown in the morn after our free breakfast, met up with some girls, shopped, bought some stuff ate some food... kayla bought her grad dress :O

Got to the ferry terminal at 2:30, and found out we weren't going to get on untill 5 :| meghan and i chilled in the van for most of it. it was so hot, so i put on my bathing suit/underwear. i got some weird looks but i'm over it.



wow i have to get a gym membership for sure

met up with some people from the concert on the ferry and now i'm home and i'm tired and want to go to bed. and i can sleep in tomorrow. yes

oh and i know i said my brother stole my camera for the weekend, but jessica lent me hers because she is cool. a few of the pictures on here are my brother's. probably the shitty ones.



edit: i forgot some details.

1) i slapped my dad in the mall as this old man was walking by and the old guy got all mad and told my dad he shouldn't accept behavior like that.

2) two drunk guys pushed their way infront of us when jj was playing. they were like 30 and dirty. one of them had a mullet and he was standing right in front of me. i blew on it and it parted and it was so funny. then everyone started blowing on it and he didn't really notice cause he was too stoned. i love mullets
