Went into Sidney today with Peter, got some coffee etc. There were a bunch of seagulls at the pier and i wanted to throw something at one. So i picked up a bottle cap and walked really slowly towards one that was sitting on the ground. I tossed it and it bounced off, the bird didnt move. Turns out it was crippled and i just threw something at it... nice. His name was kevin. We followed it around for a while and felt bad for it so we bought some old bread and tried to feed it. It was doin fine until Peter gave it a massive long piece that it started choking on and didnt eat after that. But then 100 birds started swarming and it was so scary. They'd hover over our heads like devil birds and we'd throw em some bread. They were crazy and shitting everywhere. one hit my head...(not the shit, the bird) Fun times, especially when this crazy dog came running and trying to kill all the seagulls and we thought it was going to kill kevin. But then it didnt and kevin just went over the side and started flying! it was a miracle then he hit this other dock and fell into the water. it was sad.
so anyways i was so moved by kevins will to carry on i wrote him a little poem.
kevin, you are such a strong bird,
it's hard to think of the right words,
You have changed my life for the better,
Maybe i will buy you a sweater,
But you deserve more,
you're not a whore,
I'll get you more bread,
So you wont be dead.
yeeaa, that's about all i've got in me right now poetry wise. Maybe in the future i'll attempt to make a descent one.
